MKTG777_Blogging
In this semester, I'm taking MKTG777 (Marketing Strategy), which includes the focus on New Media Marketing. In tomorrow's class, we are supposed to deal with the issues about "Blogging" in the marketing arena.
I'm writing this entry in English because Professor Jap might look at our blog, "Wharton MBA 2009 - The days in Philadelphia" in the class. This blog was created in August 2007 by the anonymous 13 Japanese MBA candidates in Class of 2009 at Wharton including me, in order to encourage/inspire ourselves through sharing our daily experiences and exchanging opinions. Also, we're hoping that this blog would be a good instrument/vehicle to promote Wharton to prospective applicants and the public in Japan. In general, not a few Japanese students at various business schools do blogging like this - and such personal/informal information has a greater influence on the applicants' decision-making process about what school(s) they should actually apply to and even go to, rather than the official information in the schools' websites. I think this tendency is much like the effect of customers' reviews and WOM. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's discussion about blogging from the marketing perspectives.
